------- Comment #4 From Martin von Gagern 2008-06-25 14:55:48 0000 -------
Investigating the first error message for the addr argument to accept.
From /usr/include/socket.h (sys-libs/glibc-2.8_p20080602 on ~x86):

#if defined __cplusplus || !__GNUC_PREREQ (2, 7) || !defined __USE_GNU
# define __SOCKADDR_ARG struct sockaddr *__restrict
...
#else
...
typedef union { ... } __SOCKADDR_ARG ...;
#endif
...
extern int accept (int __fd, __SOCKADDR_ARG __addr,
                   socklen_t *__restrict __addr_len);

In the -r1 code, __USE_GNU was not defined, therefore __SOCKADDR_ARG was a
preprocessor macro, which matched the macro HAVE_PROT_ACCEPT_2 from
include/autoconf.h well enough. In -r2, for some reason __USE_GNU got defined,
turning that argument from a pointer into a union, while HAVE_PROT_ACCEPT_2
stays as it was.

__USE_GNU was defined by features.h conditioned on _GNU_SOURCE, which was
defined by include/autoconf.h due to changes in the configure script. So I
guess the new invocation of eautoreconf is the cause of this difference.

------- Comment #5 From Dmitry Karasik 2008-06-25 15:15:03 0000 -------
AC_AIX on line 24 of configure.ac is the problem.

In the newer autoconf, it enables extensions on all systems, including
GNU_SOURCE. Removing that line allows the compile to succeed.

------- Comment #6 From Alin Năstac 2008-06-25 20:44:11 0000 -------
Fixed in cvs by removing AC_AIX. Thanks for the tip!

------- Comment #7 From Alin Năstac 2008-06-25 23:28:21 0000 -------
