Nessus-bin and Nessus-client 3.2.1 have been released some time ago.See http://blog.tenablesecurity.com/2008/05/nessus-321-rele.html for details Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Check version of nessus-bin and nessus-client in portage 2.See http://blog.tenablesecurity.com/2008/05/nessus-321-rele.html for release notes of new version Actual Results: Only version 3.2.0 available in portage :( Expected Results: Version 3.2.1 of both nessus-bin and nessus-client available in portage I haven't updated the ebuild in the sectools overlay (http://gentoo.o0o.nu), since Nessus is in portage now. Updating the version number should be straight forward, but I can provide an ebuild if you want (my time is limited though).
It would be great.
Created attachment 158409 [details] nessus-bin-3.2.1.ebuild updated ebuild for nessus-bin-3.2.1. This is mostly just a version bump, but I did modify two things: * Added ~amd64 keyword - amd64 was already supported by the ebuild, but there was no keyword for it * Added some info to the postinst instructions about registering and updating plugins - a new user may not realize that plugins need to be updated
bumped in http://gentoo.o0o.nu/portage/net-analyzer/nessus-bin/ Jared: Please don't change PDEPEND=">=dev-libs/openssl-0.9.8 section. openssl required for run only, so it should be in this section. Also, added some more notes about license change.
(In reply to comment #3) > Jared: Please don't change PDEPEND=">=dev-libs/openssl-0.9.8 section. openssl > required for run only, so it should be in this section. I didn't mess with any of the dependencies. Not on purpose, anyway, what was changed?
(In reply to comment #4) > I didn't mess with any of the dependencies. Not on purpose, anyway, what was > changed? oh, sorry. It's not correct in the portage, so let's fix it in the next version. http://blog.flameeyes.eu/articles/2008/05/15/when-you-should-use-rdepend-and-when-you-should-use-depend
I use amd64 platform, i try get digest of this ebuild: # ebuild /usr/local/portage/net-analyzer/nessus-bin/nessus-bin-3.2.1.ebuild digest !!! net-analyzer/nessus-bin-3.2.1 has fetch restriction turned on. !!! This probably means that this ebuild's files must be downloaded !!! manually. See the comments in the ebuild for more information. * Please download _Nessus-3.2.1-es5.x86_64.rpm_ from http://www.nessus.org/download * The archive should then be placed into /usr/portage/distfiles. !!! Fetch failed for _Nessus-3.2.1-es5.i386.rpm_, can't update Manifest I need downoad both(essus-3.2.1-es5.x86_64.rpm and Nessus-3.2.1-es5.i386.rpm) files or this bug?
Which version you need depends on the architecture you are running x86 or x86_64 (amd64). The error message is confusing and should be corrected. I will have a look at it, when I ahve time.
