Description Arthur Spitzer 2008-06-01 08:11:27 UTC
Hi,

after emerging the updated version of xfce4-sensors for beeing able to get refreshed acpi-temperature, I get the following error message when inserting the applet to a panel:

** Message: Sensor-Plugin: screen changed: 0

** Message: No valid plug window.

(xfce4-panel:4939): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_socket_get_id: assertion `GTK_WIDGET_ANCHORED (socket)' failed

** (xfce4-panel:4939): CRITICAL **: Ein Element wurde unerwartet entfernt: »Sensor-Plugin«.

"Ein Element wurde unerwartet entfernt:" is translated something like: "One element was unexpectedly removed:"

After emerging the older stable version 0.10.99.3, I'm able to add the applet to a panel again, but in this version the cpu-temperature doesn't refresh.

Here's my emerge --info:

Does it work if you replace files/xfce4-sensors-0.10.99.3-hddtemp.patch with this patch: http://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=147245&action=view

I made an ...-r2 ebuild as a copy of the ...-r2 ebuild in my local overlay and replaced the hddtemp patch with the recommended one, with the following solution:

 # ebuild xfce4-sensors-0.10.99.3-r2.ebuild digest

Travelmate xfce4-sensors # ebuild xfce4-sensors-0.10.99.3-r2.ebuild unpack

 * checking ebuild checksums ;-) ...                                      [ ok ]

Comment 4 Arthur Spitzer 2008-06-02 17:10:19 UTC
btw. I don't use hhdtemp:
[ebuild R ] xfce-extra/xfce4-sensors-0.10.99.3 USE="acpi lm_sensors -debug -hddtemp"
Comment 5 Arthur Spitzer 2008-06-02 20:07:49 UTC
I removed the hddtemp patch entirely, but I still can't add the applet to a panel. Could it be the acpi-patch instead?

Oddly I was able to reproduce it now, removing the acpi patch worked.

Removed in -r2
