emerged chrony, and tried to start with /etc/init.d/chronyd start without
creating any files in /etc/chrony. 

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge chrony
2. run /etc/init.d/chronyd start
3.

Actual Results:  
/etc/init.d/chronyd prints only part of the error message

Expected Results:  
printed the full error message

modified /etc/init.d/chronyd

Here's a /etc/init.d/chronyd that I modified to print the full error message.
I'm no expert at this but it seems to work ok.
