Without it you get no graphing capabilities.

hmm no, but adding it is yet another not really needed dependency. I'd say we
should just add a note at the end of the ebuild maybe. Or maybe a local USE
flag.

guppi is completely standalone btw what i get from it ?

Whatever, as long as it is in there so that people know how to get graphing
working.  I don't know too many people who use a program like gnumeric without
using a graph of some sort.  That is why I suggested to add it.

I'm not going to open a new bug report for this, but you should also mention
that without gnome-core, you don't get a help browser. Maybe this one is
important enough to be a depend, though.

no, gnome-core is a blocker for a lot of core gnome2 stuff, so can't do.
Mentioning it will only confuse people with gnome2 and the few people running
gnome 1.4 already have it most likely, so i'll leave that as it is.

The guppi message has been added to the most recent gtk1 gnumeric 1.0.13-r1 .
