Have added pie support to gdb from Ubuntu's gdb and some patches
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+source/gdb/6.8-1ubuntu1
Have bump the gentoo patches to 1.3 with pie support.

Flipping the maintainer and CC: fields around.. Hardened does not maintain 
the toolchain itself.

while true, the hardened team should give a thumbs up here and say the patches
are OK ...

A second user here tested them and said they worked. I'm all for the idea but
am lacking time right now to jump over to focus on gdb.
