Keywords were dropped for CC'ed arches due to no keyworded version of hal-info or pyxf86config. Please keyword the dependencies and re-keyword HAL.
Is FEATURES=test emerge -uv hal supposed to work? I get make[7]: Nothing to be done for `install-exec-am'. test -z "/usr/share/hal/fdi" || /bin/mkdir -p "/var/tmp/portage/sys-apps/hal-0.5.11/work/hal-0.5.11/hald/.local-fdi-test/usr/share/hal/fdi" /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 'fdi.dtd' '/var/tmp/portage/sys-apps/hal-0.5.11/work/hal-0.5.11/hald/.local-fdi-test/usr/share/hal/fdi/fdi.dtd' make[7]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/sys-apps/hal-0.5.11/work/hal-0.5.11/fdi' make[6]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/sys-apps/hal-0.5.11/work/hal-0.5.11/fdi' make[5]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/sys-apps/hal-0.5.11/work/hal-0.5.11/fdi' 17:31:51.149 [E] create_cache.c:548: Cannot scan '.local-fdi-test/share/hal/fdi/preprobe': No such file or directory 17:31:51.149 [E] create_cache.c:705: Error generating fdi cache FAIL: hald-cache-test.sh =============================== 1 of 1 tests failed Please report to david@fubar.dk =============================== on sparc.

Same for HPPA. I think it works slightly better outside the sandbox/portage environment.
(In reply to comment #2) > Same for HPPA. I think it works slightly better outside the sandbox/portage > environment. I was wrong there. A make -k check doesn't reveal any particularly exciting tests, though, and the fdi cache test failed with lesser versions all the same. Marked ~hppa.
Add back ~sparc based on Jeroen's observation.

Keyworded these on alpha: =dev-python/pyxf86config-0.3.34-r1 =app-misc/hal-info-20080310 =sys-apps/hal-0.5.11
Shouldn't PPC be on the CC list?
There is no reason not to keyword this version for PPC. Speaking of that, please take a look at the PPC patches here (bug #229763) and consider integrating them.
I see ~ppc keywording on 0.9.11-r7. Also, all patches are integrated.
@mips, heya, if you wish to support hal, please give a shot at 0.5.11-r8 or just let a message if you cannot support it so we can clean up some old revisions. Thanks in advance.
0.5.12 is ~mips, closing.
