 * The specific snippet of code:
 *           PYTHONPATH=. "${python}" setup.py pudge || die "generating docs failed";
 *  The die message:
 *   generating docs failed

And pastescript fails with a similar error.

I have doc in my USE flags, and did not have pygment installed; running the build did not attempt to pull it in.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set USE to include doc
2. Uninstall pygment, if installed
3. Try to install either ebuild for paste

Comment 1 Jack Lloyd 2008-05-13 14:22:50 UTC
Er, sorry, the package needed is pygments, not pygment.

And I can confirm that on my machine, explicitly installing pygments is sufficient to get the new paste ebuilds working again.
Comment 2 Ali Polatel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-05-13 16:03:29 UTC
pastedeploy already has it.
alip@trippin> grep doc\? pastedeploy-1.3.1.ebuild
        doc? ( dev-python/buildutils dev-python/pygments dev-python/pudge )
pastescript is fixed. Thanks for reporting :)
