well, i'll take a look at these tomorrow on amd64; what i want to mention here now, most likely applies all arches where media-gfx/gtkam-0.1.12-r2 is the latest stable version: media-gfx/gtkam-0.1.12-r2 cannot be build against media-libs/libgphoto2-2.4.1. thus, i would suggest to fix bug 178584 first, and stable media-gfx/gtkam-0.1.14 too.

I've tried the RH patch and it works fine for me with libgphoto2/gphoto2 and my Nikon D70. I'll leave integrating to you maekke. I'll attach the patch as I used it. Just poke me when you have something to test/stabilize.

Stabled 2.4.1-r1/2.4.1 on alpha.
