ufed doesn't list the ssse3 USE flag, i'm guessing because it's masked in base/use.mask and then unmasked in {arch,default-linux}/{amd64,x86}/use.mask. is there a way it could handle this case? everytime i use ufed i have to re-add ssse3 to make.conf.

Created attachment 152725 [details, diff] Parse all parents in profile It is not only ssse3 useflag but practically all useflags and defaults are false when you use 2008 profile. The reason is that actually only the first entry in "parent" (instead of a full recursion for each entry) is used when finding out the profile directories which is necessary for the 2008 profiles. The attached patch should fix the problem. Note that the order should be correct (i.e. parents are sorted before children).
Thanks Ryan for the report and Martin for the analysis. This is fixed in ufed-0.40-r9. While I appreciate the handling of bogus profiles with a clean error, I'm not sure hardcoding such limits is a good idea, so I haven't put that part in, but parent profiles work the same way as in portage now (tested with default/linux/x86/2008.0/developer).
