app-shells/bash-3.2_p33 (nls) emerged fine here - test phase not enabled.

Stable for HPPA.
Comment 8 Bastiaan Visser 2008-05-08 20:42:00 UTC
just a quick sidenote, sys-apps/portage-2.1.4_rc1 and app-shells/bash-3.2_p33 are blocking each other (circular) and both are the latest stable versions.

lost of users will hit this.

Comment 10 Luca Lesinigo 2008-06-17 22:12:42 UTC
Tried emerging this with
 CFLAGS= "-fPIE"
 LDFLAGS="-pic"
in /etc/make.conf (to get ET_DYN executables) and it fails the linking because not every object is -fPIE. During the build it honors my CFLAGS for all files exept one, mkbuiltins.c

After an ebuild unpack, Makefile.in:1395 reads:
builtins/mkbuiltins.c: ${topdir}/bashintl.h ${LIBINTL_H} $(BASHINCDIR)/gettext.h
while all lines near that use .o file names instead of .c

Could this be a bug causing it to ignore my CFLAGS?
All of this tested on HPPA, not checked on other archs.
