Description crusaderky 2008-04-30 23:26:21 UTC
Recently I've added "socks5" to my USE flags.

# emerge -uvDN world
[ebuild   R   ] net-misc/neon-0.26.4  USE="kerberos nls socks5* ssl zlib -expat" 0 kB
[...]
checking socks.h usability... yes
checking socks.h presence... yes
checking for socks.h... yes
checking for connect in -lsocks5... no
configure: error: could not find libsocks5 for SOCKS support

 # emerge --info

Comment 1 Eric Thibodeau 2008-05-11 19:32:51 UTC
This is a duplicate of bug #217538
Comment 2 Daniel 2008-05-18 09:15:56 UTC
my personal workaround:

cd /usr/lib && ln -s libsocks.so libsocks5.so
cd /usr/lib64 && ln -s libsocks.so libsocks5.so

I don't know exactly whether this is a good solution, currently it's ok for me.
