Reassigning bugs to recruiters...
Ned announced his retirement on -core yesterday.
Huh, forgot to CC my favorite dude.
(In reply to comment #5) > Ned announced his retirement on -core yesterday. Actually what I announced is my future plan to retire. Before I retire I want to make sure all my peices are in place and all the "i" are dotted and the "t" are crossed.. I love gentoo and I don't want to leave the project hanging. This bug is still probably 30-60 days out. I'll append more details as I know them or think of them.
Roughly in 5-6 weeks I plan to retire active ebuild development. At that time I intend to un-subscribe from the gentoo-dev mailing list. I will not be following any active policy. Due to the nature of my employment I will still be supporting gentoo for a long time. I am the upstream admin/sponsor for our current bugzilla, cvs and various other key services that play a role in keeping gentoo a functioning distribution. I have no plans to jeopardize that relationship in any way. I have introduced several ebuilds into the tree and picked up some along the way which will need maintainers or to be dropped from the tree. I have sent a somewhat "harshly worded" list of those pkgs which I had not already previously made arrangements for. So as far as retirement goes.. Well I'll still be root on nearly every server that plays a key role in gentoo. So if you want to actuallt remove the email address or not.. Shrug. More or less. I want the freedom to remove myself from the mailing lists. In exchange for not having to be on the lists... I'm willing to give up my cvs commit rights. Shame.. But the email has become overwhelming and I simply can't keep up anymore. When I subject myself to reading our own list. I become discontent and unhappy. Our community feels like it's going to shit. This makes me sad and it feels like I've personally failed all of you. I'm old enough to understand most games and this simple one we call gentoo should of been easy to fix.. Sadly I under-estimated our own trolls and users.
I'm going to WONTFIX for the time being then. Sorry for misinterpreting your mail to -dev.
I think you can be removed gentoo-x86 access (but of course that would just be your own self control as you can add yourself back to the group at any point) and be just staff. I think we should make the policy say that only subscribing to gentoo-dev-announce is mandatory. I will ask the council to take a stance on that in the next meeting.
Looks inactive for a long time
- herds, metadatas and bugs cleaned Also second mail sent
infra please proceed
Can anyone from infra team give a higher priority on this? I have been checking the list of pending bugs and it's full of bugs like this that are pending for someone running the round of scripts to effectively retire people :/ Thanks a lot
Planet done.
