On my system with up-to-date ~x86 system libraries, the latest distcc fails while running aclocal. The current avahi patch has a bug, here is a patch for the patch so I could compile this ebuild on my system. Fixed now.
Whoops, sorry about the wrong category. I though I had put it under ebuilds. I'll have a look at the patch in the portage, anyway this fixed it for me.
