My system has just automatically installed the 2008a. And for some reason, without producing any errors, the timezone (/etc/conf.d/clock set to Asia/Tokyo or Etc/GMT+9) is no longer recognized. date command shows simply UTC. The same holds true for 2008b, but on reverting to 2007k, everything goes back to normal. Isn't this a bug?

Łukasz Sowiński: file a new bug kavol: declare sane mirrors in your make.conf
(In reply to comment #7) > kavol: declare sane mirrors in your make.conf thanks for the answer, but ... isn't that a All Fools' Day joke? 1) http://gentoo.supp.name is the first one for Czech Republic listed at http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors2.xml - what else can be more "sane"? (since the machine is in Czech Republic) 2) the fallback to upstream source failed, which is clearly a BUG of the ebuild, it should not specify invalid address, no matter of Gentoo mirrors (or at least I am convinced that I've read this within some ebuild guidelines ...) 3) the last error message does not have anything to do with the mirrors, it is a sad thing (read: another BUG) if a system is unable to process a file which was generated by it, and says it is invalid p.s. it worked for me yesterday late evening (~22:30 CEST)
