when I use USE python with media-sound/rhythmbox-0.11.5 I get the follow error

Try with USE="-doc". Which version gtk-doc are you using ? Note that you are
mixing a stable system with _HARD_MASKED_ packages and this is strongly
discouraged.

I'm using dev-util/gtk-doc-1.10-r1

I know that gnome-2.22 is hard masked, but I think that I can help reporting
bugs.

Yes, compile sucessfully with -python

I tried "-doc +python" and worked too

rhythmbox link error patch

I faced with the same problem.
The attached patch seems to fix it in my environment.

I still get undefined symbols with the patch so something is still missing.

Backported fix from svn HEAD. Fixed in portage.
