In /etc/init.d/snort you have a reference to /etc/conf.d/snort but that last file 
doesn't exist. 

/etc/init.d/snort

# NB: Config is in /etc/conf.d/snort
***
ls: /etc/conf.d/snort: No such file or directory

fixed.  feel like testing postgresl support?  :)
