It seems that the patch may no longer be necessary, as the bug that it checks for was fixed upstream (diff the patches to see why the variables were uninitialised) but included here in case it's still useful.

Actually, munin-1.3.4-Makefile.patch appears to be unnecessary, it disables Munin's built-in DESTDIR mechanism and patches the entire Makefile to replace it. I just removed it from my ebuild and merged again and it appears to have worked.

Sorry, it didn't work by itself. It installed in the wrong directories. A new, much shorter Makefile patch and one to the ebuild are necessary.

Needs a new ebuild because I didn't change the crontab, but the version is in the name.
