Description Joe Breuer 2008-03-05 12:30:03 UTC
While installing net-nntp/leafnode-1.11.5 on a machine which already has net-mail/cyrus-imapd-2.3.9-r1 installed, leafnode will try to overwrite /usr/share/man/man8/fetchnews.8.bz2 which belongs to cyrus-imapd.

I would consider this a bug in cyrus-imapd, as no 'fetchnews' binary is installed by that ebuild.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -bavt cyrus-imapd
2. emerge -bavt leafnode
Actual Results:
 * package net-nntp/leafnode-1.11.5 NOT merged
 *
 * Detected file collision(s):
 *
 *    /usr/share/man/man8/fetchnews.8.bz2
 *
 * Searching all installed packages for file collisions...
 *
 * Press Ctrl-C to Stop
 *
 * net-mail/cyrus-imapd-2.3.9-r1
 *    /usr/share/man/man8/fetchnews.8.bz2

Expected Results:
No file collisions.

You're welcome to ask for any further information.

At least if the nntp use-flag isn't activated, agreed on that. I fixed cyrus-imapd to only install nntp related binaries and man-pages if the nntp use-flag is activated plus added a blocker on leafnode when the nntp use-flag is activated.

This is fixed in cyrus-imapd-2.3.11.

Thanks for reporting!
