Description René 'Necoro' Neumann 2008-03-03 20:50:13 UTC
irqbalance does not create a pidfile. But in init.d/irqbalance a pidfile is specified.

As the file is not needed to start and stop the service (I doubt anybody would run two instances of this service), the argument can be removed.

(Using OpenRC specifying the file even is an error, as OpenRC checks for the existence after startup and lacking it, startup is marked as failed.)

Here is the small patch :)

Seeing as OpenRC and baselayout-2 are going to hit ~arch soon, can this get committed? It's the only init script I have that didn't transition cleanly. ;-)

this is not fixed for me.

/etc/init.d/irqbalance start
 * Starting irqbalance ...
 * start-stop-daemon: did not create a valid pid in `/var/run/irqbalance.pid'                                                                                  [ !! ]
 * ERROR: irqbalance failed to start
