Description:   Opened: 2008-02-25 18:18 0000
base-system/arches, releng would like grub-0.97-r4 to go stable ASAP so that it
can be used in the release media. robbat2 has tested it in both configurations,
but a little more testing is desired so it can be stable today for the
2008.0_beta1.

target arches: x86 amd64

testing instructions:
0. Have a livecd or rescue media on hand.
1, mount /boot
2. emerge =grub-0.97-r4
3. re-run the MBR procedure
4 (detailed). starting the grub shell and running root/setup with suitable
parameters for your system.
5. reboot

testing instructions (GPT disks):
As per the basic instructions, but in the output see that it should fail to
embed and grub gives the message "failed (this is not fatal)", but the rest of
the setup command should complete correctly.

If you don't have any GPT disks, just do the normal test, do not attempt to
convert your disks between non-GPT and GPT.

x86 done, verified working by cla and myself...I just wondered where those
last-minute stabilisations were staying.

Sweet. Everybody's got this in the tree now and I've updated it in the
snapshot. Thanks again...
