I guess the work with this thingie properly some research has to be done first ;-).

on amd64: net-p2p/mldonkey-2.9.3 USE="gd gnutella gtk ocamlopt -doc -fasttrack -guionly -magic" is definitely not the p2p-program of my choice. i had to do some web-research to configure it properly. finally i used the telnet-ui for setting a password, the web-ui for configuring my shares and the gtk-ui for doing searches and some more configuration. in between i also worked with net-p2p/sancho-bin-0.9.4.58 there are still some options i would like to adapt, but as finding them would maybe take me another hour, i don't care any more. it should be noted here, that i finally was able to download two files and that they are not corrupted. summarizing: i don't like this app, but it seems to be stable as far as i can tell.
