This is after an upgrade of gcc to 4.2.3 it compiled fine with gcc-4.2.2
Yesterday I installed dev-scheme/guile-1.8.4 and remerged
dev-scheme/slib-3.1.5-r1 _before_ trying to remerge gnucash-2.2.3

Reproducible: Always

------- Comment #1 From Mike Smith 2008-03-01 23:59:58 0000 -------
I have the same problem, on amd64, using gcc-4.1.2.

Emerging with -fPIC in CFLAGS is not effective.

------- Comment #2 From Mike Smith 2008-03-04 03:01:58 0000 -------
This problem appears to be in gnucash bugzilla (
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=512166 ) and was resolved in the
2.2.4 release, now in the tree.

The 2.2.4 ebuild builds and runs successfully for me (but requires
MAKEOPTS="-j1").

------- Comment #3 From Torsten Veller 2008-03-04 10:37:10 0000 -------
I've just added the patch to 2.2.3. Please test.

Yeah,worked with MAKEOPTS="-j1", thanks

Worked here even with MAKEOPTS="-j3", thanks

Both gnucash-2.2.3 and gnucash-2.2.4 use "emake -j1".

So if you set a higher number of jobs in MAKEOPTS, it is replace by the ebuild.
It shouldn't make a difference whether you set -j3 or -j1; and it shouldn't
fail if it's not MAKEOPTS="-j1".
