1.5.3.4 is the 4th bugfix release of the 1.5.3 branch of splashutils and has currently no open bugs. Please mark stable as you see fit.

I'm having some serious problems right now with the splash, I have just redone my kernel with the latest genkernel version and splash is changing to verbose and overwriting the splash image, I have to test as I'm not sure whats causing this, splashutils or the new genkernel.
Okay, here is where I'm at 4 hrs later, I redid my kernel tonight, wanted to recompile with new gcc version and change a couple of joystick module options. After recompiling, I was getting the overwriting while using silent mode. I read in the troubleshooting that kdgraphics splash option was now needed. After adding that the overwriting stopped but it doesnt complete booting, I have to do ctrl alt f7 to get into x otherwise the splash screen stops at 72% when it says starting xdm.
