Description Rafał Mużyło 2008-02-15 14:54:44 UTC
On 2008-02-06 alsa 1.0.16 has gone from RC to stable.
Comment 1 Armando Di Cianno 2008-02-19 16:47:56 UTC
Testing alsa-{driver,header,lib-utils}-1.0.16 locally in my own overlay.

The snd-hda-intel driver survives a suspend/hibernate in this release, whereas the in-kernel 2.6.24 drivers do not.

I'd really like to see these drivers get in the tree soon. I'd be happy to do any testing necessary to help out.

Comment 3 Tony Vroon (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-03-12 17:09:12 UTC
Ebuilds have been committed to the tree:
alsa-lib-1.0.16.ebuild
alsa-firmware-1.0.16.ebuild
alsa-headers-1.0.16.ebuild
alsa-tools-1.0.16.ebuild
alsa-utils-1.0.16.ebuild

alsa-driver is no longer supported by the ALSA herd and will not be updated (unless a maintainer steps up).

Two things:
> alsa-driver is no longer supported by the ALSA herd and will not be updated
> (unless a maintainer steps up).
>
This plain sucks (just my opinion, but I've seen similar on the forums)
And the second - you've missed
media-plugins/alsa-plugins

Best be very nice to genstef, who has volunteered to try and maintain alsa-driver from now on. I would suggest CC'ing yourself on bug #207427 to register your interest.
