@corsair - I have one machine where this works and one where it fails like yours. It must be something environmental. I'll see if I can figure it out.
Comment 4 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-20 06:46:54 UTC
makes sense.. I was pretty sure I had tested it before adding ~ppc64.
Comment 5 Brent Baude (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-25 16:15:47 UTC
I use.masked xmlrpc for 64UL for now. Packages like rtorrent depended on it and were throwing repo errors. Remove from use.mask when this bug is worked out.
Comment 6 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-27 20:04:51 UTC
after I found out that xmlrpc-c builds fine outside of portage I checked if any of the patches triggers this behaviour: the patch called "xmlrpc-c-1.06.02-strsol.patch" does so.

What does this patch do? Can we leave it out?

( The patch was introduced by bug #142231 )

try for another reordering of link includes

I'm pretty sure I don't understand why this patch is needed at all. If the reordering is definetly needed we should consider the attached patch. it does the reorder in another order.

I'm pretty busy, atm. Please stand by.

Thanks for the updated patch, corsair. It's in the tree now in -r1.

thanks a lot
