In the tree for over two months without any bugs, please stabilize.

Some example test scripts are shipped in the phpunit-tests directory in the tarball, you need dev-php5/phpunit installed for those to work (no, won't work at compile time, see Bug 208545 comment #0 for general notes on PHP stuff and testing).
