Bugzilla Bug 207304

While compiling emboss-5.0.0 on amd64 with LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1 -Wl,--sort-common
-Wl,--as-needed -Wl,-z,now" I get an error. Removing "-Wl,--as-needed" from
LDFLAGS makes emboss compile.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.add "-Wl,--as-needed" to LDFLAGS
2.try to compile emboss-5.0.0
3.

Actual Results:  
Emerging package fails

Expected Results:  
Emerging should succeed
