Well, I'm newbe in bugzilla but it may be interesting what I found.
I tried merging kde-base:kde-4 but it stoped when merging libcaptury
Failure message was (you can see it in the attachement)
...
** i386 architecture of input file `.libs/TAudioCaptureSource.o' is
incompatible with i386:x86-64 output
...
So I went to my
PORTAGE_TMPDIR/media-libs/libcaptury-0.3.0_pre200712251/work/captury-0.3.0_pre200712251/libcaptury/abi-amd64/src/captury
and executed:

nefertiti captury # file TAudioCaptureSource.o
TAudioCaptureSource.o: ELF 32-bit LSB relocatable, Intel 80386, version 1
(SYSV)

I'm very confused, as I supposed it should be something like:

nefertiti captury # file TOpenGLCaptureSource.o
TOpenGLCaptureSource.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV),
not stripped

Is it a bug in the ebuild? It's like TAudioCaptureSource.o is compiled as an
x86 executable, so it can't be assembled into an amd64 (x86_64) binay.

Any suggestion ?

I can still reproduce it in AMD64, this seems to be due to:
* Building multilib libcaptury for ABIs: x86 amd64

Why is it building both?

it needs to build both, because there's a package that depends on libcaptury to
be built for both archs on multilib amd64.

can you please send me the *full* output of emerge (stdout and stderr)
e.g. by piping as follows:

emerge libcaptury 2>&1 | tee emerge-libcaptury.log

as i believe that there's maybe anything else broken on your system.

Really strange, there is only one file that is compiled in 32bits, and after
the emerge fail, doing a make clean and make works.
I don't know how it works, but I discover that the problem come from ccache,
emerging using
FEATURES="-ccache" emerge libcaptury works fine
but adding export FEATURES="-ccache" in your ebuild does not work, and I don't
know if there is a way to filter the FEATURES environment variable on your
ebuild

obviousely there's a problem with multilib compiles and ccache ;(

as a side-note (for myself at least): we could work around this ccache issue by
adding -DARCH=${ABI} to C[XX]FLAGS as ccache shouldn't threat files compiled
for x86 and amd64 the same anymore

ganjo, i've committed a workaround as -r1 bump. if you want, please try it out,
and tell me wether it fixed the problem with FEATURES=ccache being enabled.

I'm running into this too.

Oddly, putting FEATURES="-ccache" in my command line (FEATURES="-ccache" emerge
blah blah) works, but putting it as a line in
/etc/portage/env/media-libs/libcaptury fails, even though the environment file
for the failed ebuild contains a line of FEATURES=-ccache.
