If it's not a direct DEP or a RDEP of a dep you can assume no.
I do automated builds using binpkgs for dependencies and emerge --depclean as
often as needed to get rid of all unstated deps :)

I know, weird setup, but it's very good at finding unstated / implicit deps :)
