Thanks for the note!

These things should really be fixed by upstream since it is not really
our responsibility to correct their bad C coding practices.
That said, I'll see that I can wip up a patch that can be sent
upstream.

These things should now all be fixed in scilab-4.1.1 (the
latest version in ~ARCH).
