Though I set up the appropriate variable "TEXMFSITE" in the file
"/usr/share/texmf/web2c/texmf.cnf",  TEXMFSITE=/usr/share/texmf-site ,
emerging "maxima" keeps on failing because "kpsewhich" does not recognize the
option `-var-value=TEXMFSITE'

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:  
emerge sci-mathematics/maxima-5.13.0-r1

This issue is related to the TEX version installed according to
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-4662986.html#4662986.
The eduild should make sure the correct version of kpsewhich is installed.
