target keywords: amd64 ppc x86
compile-test only unless you have a tape drive. I have tested it against my
LTO3 and it works great.

could be using toolchain-funcs instead of directly using gcc.

gcc -O2 -pipe -march=k8 -Wall -ansi   -c -o cmdline.o cmdline.c

but still, amd64 stable
