mail-client/evolution-2.12.1 has a bug that totally breaks local mail delivery. Se Bug http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=500018. It would be great if the patch in the bug report could be ported to gentoos stable release. Reproducible: Always
as said on the bug report, the fix has been commited to stable which means a version with the fix will or is already released. Try evolution-2.12.2.
This is not fixed in 2.12.2 this version was released before the bug was reported. The problem is that in the bug report they do not mention when there will be a new release. As it is now both the stable 2.12.1 and unstable 2.12.2 in gentoo is utterly broken when it comes to reading local delivered mail. I do not know how often they do release new versions. I would rather see this patch incorporated in at least the last unstable gentoo release rather then having to wait for gnome or Novell to decide they will release a new version.
2.20.3 is due in one month so I'll put the patch in 2.20.2
fix is in CVS.
I have tried the new release but it does not function due to the fact that the evolution-data-server-1.12.2-local-delivery.patch is an empty file in CVS. Seems that something got wrong in the checkin. If it is not just me that are to impatient and things has not synced jet properly.
err sorry for that, it should be in now with a revbump so everyone gets the fix.
