These are the Kernel Options we need for ISDN: under Network Device Support - PPP Support Under ISDN Subsystem - ISDN Support - Those compression options would be nice We don't need audio/fax or feature submodules - Passive ISDN Cards - Support for EURO DSS1 - Disable sending complete (for australian users) - Support for US NI1 We don't need German 1TR6 as Euro ISDN is used in germany now - It is best to enable all cards, at least Teles, AVM and Telekom Cards are widely used at least in Germany Active ISDN Cards aren't used very often i heard Additionally, we need at least the following tools from the isdn4k-utils package: - ipppd (ISDN PPP Daemon) - isdnctrl, to control the isdn card isdnlog and hisaxctrl/telesctrl are only used to set logging options, but i think logging phone calls isn't really necessary. loopctrl is used to control the isdn loop device, so it's not needed I hope this is all, if you have questions just drop me a line kind regards Nils Meyer
I first need a fully working isdn4k-utils, then i'll include it on the CD.. I've tried to look at it myself, but i dunnow.. :'o(
Hi, sorry for the long delay on this bug. Please take a look at isdn4k-utils-3.2_p1-r1.ebuild. If you could, build it and then list exactly what I need to keep and what can be removed. In particular, do we need anything in /usr/share/isdn? And what files in /etc are needed?
ISDN is now on this CD: http://www.gentoo.org/dyn/experimental/livecd/gentoo- basic-x86-2002121700.iso -- it is not stripped down and needs to be tested, but it should work. Please report success/failure here.

should be working
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this.
