Installing docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2-r6 fixed this problem.
next time please either specify that your are using FEATURES="test" or paste your emerge --info, thanks. fixed in CVS.

I compiled it with: LINGUAS="" FEATURES="-test", works LINGUAS="" FEATURES="test", breaks since there is no doc flag, I don't know what could trigger this for you. Could you provide your dev-libs/libxslt, and the list of app-text/docbook-sgml-dtd, app-text/docbook-xml-dtd and app-text/docbook-xsl-stylesheets installed and also your emerge --info.

Well, the ebuild has an invalid USE test? ( ) dep now, it failed without it. Either dep on it unconditionally or don't dep on it at all collecting dupes here, it continues to fail with the set of docbook's installed I listed previously.
well, I can't even reproduce this anymore.. hate these docbooks. reverted the USE test in tree, and closing this as worksforme.

actually this is not fixed, thing is scrollkeeper/gnome-doc-utils used to pull docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2 but now it only pulls 4.4 while a good chunck of gnome related packages still use 4.1.2. @herd any ideas on how to fix that without having to add "test" use flag everywhere there is user doc ? Or should we just bite the bullet ?
ok so I rerere-checked this problem. The build failure about missing docbook can only happen in two cases: * corrupted catalog * and/or FEATURES="test" I should gather up some comments in made in other bugs about how to fix the first case because it seems to hit quite frequently. For this second, I'm going to fix 2.22 and 2.24 in a minute.
