The main difference between this version of Firebird and the present stable is
its install location. It's no longer installed under /opt with symlinks to
other places. It's now installed per FHS without symlinks. I have been running
it for a while on my development server, and production ones. I haven't see any
problems, but there still could be some. The problems I did experience I
addressed already thus it being -r2. Mostly with looking for stuff in the wrong
place.

Still it should be tested a bit, and not to much advice there on how to test.
If you have your own db's with UDFs or etc that would be ideal. I use some of
the default UDF's which seem to load fine from the new location in
/usr/firebird/UDF or etc. Same with stuff for character sets, and etc.

Thanks
