I have
dev-libs/openssl-0.9.7j
I want upgrade it to dev-libs/openssl-0.9.8g.
First i did "emerge --sync" and then "emerge openssl" but i got error:

Schould be normal install.

I did emerge --sync to update my portage.

something in your environment is screwing it up.  the list of things that are
causing a failure look like your $USE flag from make.conf.

post the output of `emerge -v --info` as an attachment as well as doing:

I just have this in my make.conf:

So is it wrong? Or i must just use something else then "APPS" as the variable
name?
