I have tested it with configurations from an older version and have downloaded
numerous podcasts.  This is on a fairly clean install (only other ~amd64
package at the moment is scilab).

  Everything has worked for me.

Everything compiles/installs/merges fine. Runs fine and downloading some
podcasts works fine.
