The current stable package net-print/hplip-1.7.4a-r2 leaves a file called dll.conf on /var/tmp/portage i.e. outside of the emerge folder. This doesn't seem to do any harm except the fact that this could be a potential issue to other files and a security problem too. Thanks Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge hplip 2. check /var/tmp/portage 3.

No big deal but not very clean either, so I fixed it. Note that the ebuild for the newer 2.x branch had the same issue. Thanks for reporting this. Denis.

(In reply to comment #3) > Was the fix added to portage? Yes, but in the new generation stuff only. I've just asked for stabilization for it. Denis.
OK thanks for the info. Will leave it open until next stable comes out or this version is no longer needed in portage. Please close the bug when the next stable comes out. Thanks again for your time and support.
I just upgraded to the new stable version: hplip-2.7.10 The dll.conf is still left behind. It seems that is not fixed yet...
This should definitely be fixed with hplip-2.8.2 thanks partly to a fix I just committed in sane-backends. Denis.
