Description:   Opened: 2003-04-18 12:58 0000
rolled back to 2.1-r1 and it works fine..

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
emerge /usr/portage/media-libs/fontconfig/fontconfig-2.1.94-r1.ebuild 

Actual Results:  
The helvetica font Does not work

Expected Results:  
Helvetica font

i have i have /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/helv018-*.pcf.gz <guessing thats
the fonts

the pcf.gz were disregarded i think because they are pretty useless to most
people in the standard config.

I think fontconfig 2.2 will do something about this, since more people asked
for it. It will be out anytime soon now.

You can add them by adding <dir>/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi</dir> to your
local.conf for now.

Problem is that with disregarding some fontpaths we also disregard some
possibly 'harmful' fonts which cause ugly fonts for users. Adding the root path
again will also inlude these fonts.

ok in the new fontconfig (2.2.0) i'm gonna add /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi
and /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi to the basic setup as well. Altough they
look pretty bad here.

As long as we can't exclude dirs, this should do.
