with USE="-static" all works fine.

with USE="static" the build fails:

=== sparc64 ===

CLI ONLY (USE="-gtk"): Compiles fine (both with USE="-static" and USE="static"), passes all tests, no collisions. Tested operation thoroughly.

NOTE: Need someone else to test compilation and operation with the GTK GUI, (USE="gtk", gtk-lshw). Didn't realize there was one until portage and the project site told me. :)

same on ppc

Comment 4 Jorge Manuel B. S. Vicetto (RETIRED) Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev 2007-10-23 12:43:40 UTC
sys-apps/lshw-02.11.01b
sys-apps/lshw-02.11.01b (static)

1. Emerges on SPARC64.
2. No collisions.
3. Package doesn't include tests
4. It compiles fine, but every time I try to run it I get "Bus error". I've tried with different options, including "lshw -disable ide,usb,pci,pcmcia,memory,dmi,spd,device-tree,cpuinfo,cpuid,isapnp,network" to no avail. I tested the previous stable and it gave the same error, so it might be related to my hardware.

On SPARC64 sys-apps/lshw-02.11.01b USE="gtk -static" fails with bus error in here too.

I'm running the same toolchain as Jorge, but since Aaron successfully tested sys-apps/lshw, perhaps it's GCC related.
