Moving on with xine-lib, we had to skip 1.1.6 and 1.1.7 because it wasn't
building with USE="dxr3" but this version does. Also those versions had issues
with DVB cards, but 1.1.8 seems to be fine as I'm watching xvdr with dvb-c card
using xine-lib-1.1.8 as we speak.

It's also required to get new kaffeine and libdca stable.

media-libs/xine-lib-1.1.8 on AMD64:

Emerges fine, no collisions. Works fine with gxine and
media-video/kaffeine-0.8.5.
