Description:   Opened: 2007-09-08 12:49 0000
Sometime in the past the location of the herds.xml file got changed.
app-portage/herdstat-1.1.91 has been fixed to use the new location, but it is
marked unstable. The older versions of herdstat don't use the correct location
and thus don't work at all.

Possible solutions: stabilize app-portage/herdstat-1.1.91-r1 (and thus also
dev-cpp/libherdstat-0.2.0), or backport the location change for
herdstat-1.1.1_p7.

My vote is for the stabilization.

Noooo!!! It's totally unusable. See Bug 121662.

Stick this into /etc/herdstatrc or ~/.herdstatrc

<snip>
herdsxml=/usr/portage/metadata/herds.xml
</snip>

(or whatever other location that fits your needs).

------- Comment #2 From Hans de Graaff 2007-09-08 13:25:01 0000 -------
Ok, if herdstat-1.1.91 isn't ready then I think the location patch should be
backported to herdstat-1.1.1_p7, so that things work out of the box. If that's
just not possible then even adding the snippet that jakub mentions could be
included in the ebuild.

====amd64====

All deps merge. herdstat compiles fine, installs fine, merges fine. it would be
nice to make a test suite based off of the examples in the examples.txt.bz2
file. Other than that, I ran all the commands there and they all worked.
