Hello..

subterfugue 0.2 is apparently depending on python 1.5.
In my clean gentoo 1.4_rc2 there is only python2.2 in
/dev-lang/python.

I remember I tried to install it on a redhat8.0 and the only
solution was to install locally python1.5.

I apologize If I am missing an obvious solution.

R.G.

well, more correctly its module building method is not supported in anything
>python-2.1. since python-2.0, Makefile.pre.in is not supported by python
people anymore.

i'll look into whether its worth putting in the effort to make it compliant
with python-2.2 using distutils. it is part of the reason why the zope people
won't support python-2.2, because all their components use the Makefile.pre.in
mechanism

ok, i've committed a subterfugue-0.2.1a to portage.

can you please try that? i've had to custom port it over to python2.2. subterfugue is not actively maintained anymore, unfortunately.

Hello again,
I donwloaded the new ebuild from cvs and it installed ok.

  I tried a simple
        sf --tri=TimeWarp:'delta='-100000000 date

and it seems working ok. I will fool around to see if it is
  okay for the other features.

I must say, that was fast. And stright to the point. No phyton 1.5 to
install and waste space . Thank you very much.

             R.G.
