Description:   Opened: 2007-07-30 05:25 0000
Windowmaker does not run the preferences utility, nor does wmsetup run from
console (it just produces a fresh bash prompt as if it completed its job). The
themes from windowmaker-themes are not listed in the root menu, and windowmaker
itself cannot change the root window's appearance with the built-in solid
colors or gradients.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Windowmaker (I use startx and .xinitrc, command line is exec
dbus-launch wmaker)
2. Rightclick to bring up the root menu on the desktop.
3. Try to choose a colorset or theme, or run the Preferences utility.

Actual Results:
Nothing. None of the themes installed via the windowmaker-themes package appear
in the root menu, and the preferences utility, which I believe is called
wmsetup, will not run even from a terminal. Neither does setting the background
with the built-in solids or gradients; it remains the same lavender color.

Expected Results:
The preferences utility should have appeared, the themes should be listed, and
the built-in defaults should have an effect on the desktop when selected.

CFLAGS: -march=k8 -fomit-frame-pointer -O2 -pipe
USE Flags: gif -gnustep jpeg -modelock nls png tiff -xinerama

This happens whether there is another X server running (i.e., windowmaker was
started with startx -- :1) or not (started with plain old startx). The wmsetup
utility will not run from console in any other wm/de either, not that it would
have anything relevant to add to them.

Please post your `emerge --info`, this will help (for example what is your
LINGUAS variable)

The preferences app is WPrefs, not wmsetup (a program used by wmaker.inst
non-GUI configuration program). With USE=-gnustep, the preferences app should
be in /usr/lib/GNUstep (for -r3). For themes tweakings, you may prefer
wmakerconf though

Themes should be listed in default menus fine, except some languages (I had
that problem at least with french menu). If you want, you can try the
windowmaker ebuild from the gnustep overlay, which should fix them all (and
will probably get moved soon in portage)

windowmaker-0.92.0-r4 is in portage now, thanks for the report
