i already did this a few days ago but i guess i forgot to `repoman commit`

When you added this new version you sent it straight to stable for all arches. Is this what you meant to do? I thought new package versions were never to go straight to stable except for security fixes and the like, and I see nothing like that in the changelogs etc.
I get the download error, too. // Possibly not settled on the mirrors, yet. ... and I sincerely doubt that stabilizing an ebuild immediately after adding it to portage is a good idea ... Axel
