Why is in the ebuild of lm_sensors-2.10.4 a dependency to x11-misc/read-edid set?

I am using lm_sensors on a headless system without gnome, x11, ... or any other gui. I am just wondering, why an install of x11-stuff is forced, can't this be avoided?
