media-sound/kwave fails to compile with media-libs/flac-1.1.4 while it worked
with media-libs/flac-1.1.2-r8.

The same here, but i think it's a bug of Kwave itself, not flac.

That is no "bug", it's a change in the API of the FLAC library. The problem is
known since some time and I backported a patch which is available under
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1732594&group_id=6478&atid=306478

kwave-0.7.9.ebuild.diff

ebuild changes to use patches linked from comment #3.

It compiles with either media-libs/flac-1.1.2-r8 and media-libs/flac-1.1.4.
