Description Phil Richards 2003-03-31 13:06:34 UTC
The latest fetchmail ebuild (6.2.2-r1) has a new init.d/fetchmail entry which
specifies "-d 60" (a 60 second polling period). This command line option
overrides any admin set preference in the /etc/fetchmailrc with "set daemon ...".

Short of editing the init.d script (which I try to avoid doing for obvious
merge-conflict reasons), there appears no way to override it.

I'd suggest the addition of /etc/conf.d/fetchmail, and an appropriate
environment variable.

Will fix this afternoon.

Fixed, thanks. /etc/conf.d/fetchmail defaults to a polling delay of 60 seconds.

I considered reverting the init script change and letting people set the polling period in their configuration (which seems saner) but unfortunately with our init script set up the init system doesn't realize the application exited if it doesn't daemonize. I'll be pondering this.
